Back to the bar to water the animals ~
Went back to work tonight. I'm a bartender, I've been off work for about two weeks due to my aunt dying of cancer. Have I mentioned that cancer sucks! It's good to be back to work though, I've been getting a little stir crazy. My husband has been home with me during the day, cos he lost his job, and I've been feeling kinda smothered, not to mention not getting anything done. There were a few tough parts at work tonight, when people started asking about my aunt, I got a little choked up. Besides that, though, it was a typical night, a few people missed me but most didn't even know I was gone. One of the first things I got asked was to show my boobs. Just some drunk in the back ground that sure doesn't know me well enough to ask. If he knew me at all he'd know that I'm a lady and that I only show my boobs when I'm drunk. I told him that, so of course he offered to buy me a drink. My bosses are kinda funny about that though and they really don't let us drink behind the bar. And so,..........we never do:) It was a bummer too, cause after my throat was choked up, a nice cold beer sure sounded good to me. If you haven't guessed by now, yes, I'm a drinker. I don't drink very often, only a couple days a week, but when I do I sure know how to get~er~done right. Anyway, it was a pretty uneventful night. I did get a little ticked off when I had to cut off a friend of mine. He got pissy, I told him I didn't want him to wreck on his way home and he said no that I cut him off cos I'm just mean.I told him "Ok then, I'm mean now go home." He left and he'll probably say sorry tomorrow. Rule of a bartender 'don't argue with a drunk' (unless your wearing your big, heavy rings:) |
